LEONARD REX
Lead Pastor
Leonard was born near Erie, Pennsylvania, and moved to Kentucky when he was 15. He graduated from Kentucky Wesleyan College and Asbury Theological Seminary. He has pastored churches in Elkton and Hanson, Kentucky, and in Halifax and Bailey, North Carolina, before coming to Mount Zion in 2007. ISAAC (JIWON) RYU
Associate Minister
Isaac was born and raised in South Korea where he received his Masters degree in Choral Conducting and started serving as a Music Pastor when he was 25. When Isaac came to California to attend a seminary school, he met his wife, Julie An. Isaac and Julie have three children, Heaven, Gabriel and Noel. JENNI ACKERMAN
Next Generations Minister
Jenni was born in Nebraska and was very active with the youth in her church growing up. As an adult, she moved here from the Kansas area with her family and settled in Clayton, NC. DONNA REX
Connections Ministries Coordinator
Donna was born and raised in North Carolina. She graduated from Central Wesleyan College and Asbury Theological Seminary where she met her husband Leonard. They have two boys, Josiah and Daniel and recently added a daughter, Amber, who is married to Josiah. Donna likes to cook and preserve food by canning, freezing and dehydrating when she has time. CINDY BRENDLE
Care Ministries Coordinator
After graduating from college, Cindy moved to Raleigh from Statesville, NC. She retired in 2017 from a 30 year career with Wake County Public School System, where she worked as a high school marketing education teacher/coordinator and later, as a middle school career development coordinator. She and her husband, Pete, joined Mount Zion UMC, in 2013. They have 2 married children, Will and Claire. They enjoy traveling, camping and gardening. JULIE AN
Director of Music Ministries
Julie is from Seoul, Korea and was raised in Southern CA since the age of 11. She graduated from Manhattan School of Music, and received her Bachelors and Masters degree in Classical Vocal Performance. She met her husband Isaac, a music pastor, in 2006 and they have been working and worshiping together ever since. Danna Poske
Office Manager
Danna was born and raised in Texas. Her career took her to Birmingham, AL where she recently retired from The University of Alabama at Birmingham after a 24-year career. Danna and her husband decided to relocate to NC since three of their children from their blended family reside here in NC. Danna is an avid reader, enjoys beach time and traveling, spending time with their children and grandchildren, and enjoys long walks with their 2 golden retrievers. ERIN NENNI
E519 Leader
Erin Nenni grew up in Benson, NC. She graduated from East Carolina University in 2005 and later began a professional career in music, both writing and performing. Erin, her husband (Louie), and their three boys have been actively involved at Mount Zion since 2011. She is passionate about music and believes that through authentic worship, where we humble ourselves before God and praise His name, we can move into a closer and deeper relationship with Him. MARTHA EATMON
Treasurer
Martha was born and raised in Rocky Mount, North Carolina She graduated from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. She worked at North Carolina State University until her son was born. After taking 2 years off she went back to work part time and has had several accounting positions over the years.
